El Segundo has an excellent library, public swimming pool, ice skating rink, an abundance of beautiful parks, recreational facilities, youth sports, farmers market, dog park, senior citizens clubhouse, senior citizen housing complex, golf driving range, nine hole golf course and most important, outstanding public services such as police and fire protection.
The El Segundo Educational Foundation was founded in 1983, to raise supplemental funding for the school system. El Segundo Unified School District rankings place schools in the district well above county and state averages. Standard & Poor rated the district as an "academic outperformer"...one of 29 school districts statewide for 2005. This is truly a noteworthy recognition!! All public schools are "California Distinguished Schools".
El Segundo has developed into one of the Southland's leading centers for business.
